どんな商品を作っているの？
「feline pages 〜猫と書〜」というブランド名で、カルトン（厚紙）をベースに作る箱や文具などを制作しています。このページの冒頭に、着物姿の女性と猫の画像がぼんやりと見えているかと思いますが、これが商品の外装の中心となるデザインです。今後は、この中心となるイラストのデジタル版（デジタルアート・壁紙）も商品として出品していく予定です。和風と猫が好きな私の好みを反映したものですが、世界中の猫好きさんと和好きさんに寄り添える作品になればと思いながら、一つひとつ大切に制作しています。
What kind of products do I create?
Under my brand, "feline pages ~ Neko to Sho ~," I craft boxes and stationery structured from thick paperboard (carton).
You might notice the soft, misty image at the top of this page featuring a woman in a kimono with a cat—this is the core design for my product exteriors. In the future, I also plan to offer digital versions of this main illustration, such as digital art and wallpapers.
These creations deeply reflect my own love for Japanese style and felines. My hope is to craft pieces that bring a sense of warmth and connection to fellow cat lovers and enthusiasts of Japanese culture around the world.
feline pages〜猫と書〜とは？
猫を抱きながら季節の庭を眺める、名前のない着物の女性。
その静かなひとときをモチーフに作品を制作しています。
春には木蓮、夏には朝顔、秋には秋桜、冬には椿。
移りゆく季節の花々と、寄り添う猫たちを小さな物語として描き、一つひとつの作品に閉じ込めました。
大切な手紙やアクセサリー、お気に入りの栞。
日々の暮らしの中で心惹かれるものをしまうための、小さな書庫のような存在になれたら嬉しく思います。
feline pages は、猫と書物と季節を愛する人のための小さな世界です。
What is "feline pages ~ Neko to Sho ~"?
A nameless woman in a kimono, gazing out at a seasonal garden while cradling a cat in her arms. My creations are born from this quiet, fleeting moment.
Magnolias in spring, morning glories in summer, cosmos flowers in autumn, and camellias in winter. I weave the changing flowers of the seasons and the comforting presence of cats into tiny stories, capturing them within each and every piece.
A treasured letter, a piece of jewelry, or a favorite bookmark. I would be deeply honored if my work could serve as a miniature library—a special place to keep the things that capture your heart in daily life.
feline pages is a small, quiet world dedicated to those who love cats, books, and the passing of the seasons.
feline pagesの作品を作るきっかけ
私と猫の付き合いは古く、10代の頃から何匹もの猫と暮らしてきました。
今は猫を飼っていませんが、道で猫を見かけるとつい足を止めてしまいます。運よく近寄ってきてくれたら写真を撮ったり、おやつをあげたり。猫たちは今でも私の暮らしの中にいる大切な存在です。
カルトナージュと出会ったのは、ある日ネットショップで見かけた美しい箱がきっかけでした。思わず購入したものがキットだったため、自分で作ることになったのですが、完成した箱は驚くほど美しく、あの日画面の中で見たものがそのまま手元に現れたようでした。
それから私は箱作りに夢中になりました。さまざまな生地や紙を集め、大好きな猫柄やジュイやモリスを使った箱を作りながら、自分の好きなものに囲まれる楽しさを知りました。
ある時ふと、「一緒に暮らしてきた猫たちを作品の中に残せないだろうか」と思いました。写真も考えましたが、せっかくならイラストにしたい。そうしてAIによる画像制作を始めたのです。
猫たちの姿を形にしていくうちに、ある思いが浮かびました。
「私もそこに入りたいな。みんなと一緒に。」
その願いから生まれたのが、猫を抱く着物姿の女性です。
女性の顔を描いていないのは、見る人それぞれが自分を重ねられるように。そして私自身も、その後ろ姿に自分を重ねられるように。
feline pages の作品は、猫と過ごした記憶や憧れ、そして季節の美しさを小さな箱の中に閉じ込めたものです。
もしかするとこれは、慢性猫不足症候群の私の欲望が生み出した箱なのかもしれません。
猫を抱いて庭の花を眺める――そんな時間への小さな憧れから生まれた世界です。
The Inspiration Behind "feline pages"
My connection with cats goes back a long way; I have shared my life with many felines since my teenage years. Although I don't have a cat of my own right now, I still find myself stopping in my tracks whenever I spot one on the street. If I’m lucky enough for them to approach me, I take photos or offer them a little treat. Cats remain a deeply cherished presence in my daily life.
My encounter with cartonnage began when I stumbled upon a beautiful box in an online shop. I bought it on a whim, only to realize it was a DIY kit. Building it myself, I was amazed by how stunning the finished piece turned out—it felt as though the beautiful object I had seen on my screen had magically materialized right into my hands.
From that moment on, I was captivated by box-making. I began collecting various fabrics and papers, crafting boxes with Toile de Jouy, William Morris prints, and, of course, my favorite cat motifs. Through this process, I discovered the pure joy of surrounding myself with things I love.
One day, a thought came to me: "Is there a way to preserve the memories of the cats I’ve lived with inside my creations?" I considered using photographs, but I really wanted them to be illustrations. That is what led me to explore creating images with AI.
As I brought the forms of these cats to life, another wish surfaced: "I want to be in there too. Together with all of them." It was from this longing that the image of the woman in a kimono cradling a cat was born.
I purposely left the woman's face blank. I wanted anyone who looks at her to be able to see themselves in her place—just as I see myself in her gentle, reflective silhouette.
Every piece from "feline pages" is a small archive, capturing memories of days spent with cats, heartfelt longings, and the passing beauty of the seasons within a tiny box.
If I am being completely honest, these boxes might simply be the creation of my own desires—born from my chronic case of "Cat Deficiency Syndrome."
It is a world born from a simple, beautiful longing: to sit quietly, holding a cat, and watching the flowers bloom in the garden.
プロフィール
私のハンドメイド歴はかなり長く、中でも彫金は30年以上になります。作品づくりの過程で漆を使う蒔絵や螺鈿、七宝焼などの作品も作っておりました。ここ数年は縁あってカルトナージュという厚紙を使った工芸と出逢い、様々な布や紙を使って箱や身の回りのものを仕立てております。彫金も七宝焼もカルトナージュもその時々に自分の表現したいものを作るのに選んだ素材や方法でしたが、どれも意図せず随分はまってしまったものだと思っています。
Profile
My journey with handcrafted art spans many years, with a central focus on metal smithing for over three decades. Throughout my creative career, I have also worked with traditional techniques such as Makie (lacquer art), Raden (mother-of-pearl inlay), and Shippo-yaki (cloisonné enamel).
A few years ago, serendipity led me to the art of cartonnage. Since then, I have been crafting boxes and everyday items using a wide array of beautiful fabrics and papers.
Whether it was metal smithing, cloisonné, or cartonnage, each was a medium or method I chose to express myself in that specific moment. Yet, looking back, I realize I became deeply captivated by each one of them, quite beyond anything I had ever intended.
